Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

At Fifth St Dental, we believe everyone deserves access to quality dental care — and we’re proud to support patients enrolled in the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).

The CDCP is a federal initiative that helps make dental care more affordable for eligible Canadians who do not have private dental insurance. The program covers a wide range of preventive, diagnostic, and restorative dental services to help improve and maintain your oral health.

Who Is Eligible for the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?

The Canadian Dental Care Plan is designed to make dental care more accessible and affordable for Canadians who do not have private dental insurance. If you’re unsure whether you qualify, here’s a breakdown of the eligibility criteria.

You may be eligible for the CDCP if you meet all of the following conditions:

No Access to Private Dental Insurance

You must not have dental coverage through an employer, family member, or private plan.

Annual Income Under $90,000

Your adjusted family net income must be below $90,000.

  • Full coverage is available for those earning under $70,000.

  • Partial coverage may apply for those between $70,000–$89,999.

Canadian Residency

You must be a Canadian resident for tax purposes.

Recent Tax Filing

You must have filed a tax return in the previous year.

Benefits of the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

Coverage for a Wide Range of Services
Eligible patients receive coverage for preventive, diagnostic, and restorative services such as cleanings, exams, fillings, extractions, and more.
Improved Access to Dental Care
CDCP makes dental care more accessible for Canadians without private insurance, helping reduce financial barriers to essential treatments.
Preventive Care at No or Low Cost
Regular check-ups and cleanings are included, helping catch oral health issues early and reducing the risk of more serious problems down the line.
Support for Seniors, Children, and Vulnerable Groups
The CDCP is being rolled out in phases, prioritizing seniors, children under 18, and individuals with disabilities — groups who often face the most barriers to dental care.
